AI glossary
Augela is built for ordinary teams, not AI specialists, so the terms that come with it should be plain English rather than jargon. Each entry below links to the actual Augela feature that does the thing described, where there is one.
AI governance
AI governance is the set of rules that decide what an AI system is allowed to do, who checks its work, and what gets recorded when it acts. Without it, an AI agent can answer a customer, write a policy, or take an action with nobody responsible for the outcome and no record of what happened.

AI agents
An AI agent is software given a defined job, such as answering support tickets or drafting a policy, that acts largely on its own rather than replying once to a single prompt. What separates a governed agent from a plain chatbot is not what it can say, it is what it is allowed to reach, who checks its work, and what gets written down when it acts.

Human-in-the-loop AI
Human-in-the-loop AI means a person sits inside the process an AI agent runs, able to see and correct an answer before or immediately after it goes out, rather than reviewing a sample of its work weeks later. The difference is not who reads the least. It is whether oversight is a setting the system enforces or a habit somebody has to remember to keep up.

AI audit trail
An AI audit trail, sometimes called AI auditability, is a record of every action an AI system and the people managing it took: who asked what, what the agent answered, who corrected it, and when a setting changed. The record only does its job if it cannot be quietly edited afterward, which is a stronger requirement than simply being logged.

Company memory
Company memory is what an AI keeps of your company's know-how between conversations: the corrections your people made, the good answers they shared, and the facts they confirmed. Most AI tools forget all of it when the chat ends, so the same mistake is corrected again next week. Good company memory is the opposite: precise, confirmed by a person, used first in every answer, and kept true as things change.
