Run · MCP integration
Agents that look things up live in your own systems.
While it answers, an Augela agent can check your systems and answer from the result, instead of only from uploaded documents. Read-only, governed and recorded, in the Augela chat, in Slack and in the public chat on your website.
Live answers
Answers from what is true right now.
- Stock
- Whether it is on the shelf right now, not what a spreadsheet said last month.
- Today's price
- The price your system holds today, quoted as it is.
- Order status
- Where an order actually is, without anyone logging in to check.
- Free dates
- What is available when the customer needs it, for a booking or a rental.
MCP, short for Model Context Protocol, is the open standard many software vendors already offer. Connect one server or several in Connectors, under MCP servers. No custom integration needed.
Governed like everything else
Your systems, your rules, on the record.
- Read-only
- Agents can look things up. They never change anything in your systems.
- Company decides
- Connect a server for one agent, a team or the whole company, like any other knowledge source. The company admin chooses which tools are allowed. Group admins can only restrict further.
- Recorded
- Every lookup is saved with the answer and shown in the Review Queue, so a reviewer can see whether the data or the agent was wrong.
- Audited
- Every change to who may use what goes into the audit log.
One connector, three uses
Connect a server once. Use it three ways.
- Knowledge
- The server's documents become company knowledge your agents can search.
- Live answers
- Its tools are looked up while an agent answers, read-only.
- Pipelines
- Its tools become steps in a pipeline, with the same approval checkpoints as any other step.
See it at work: Renteden's website chat quotes live prices and availability, then passes along the next step Renteden's own system offers.
FAQ
Technical evaluators are asking
What does Augela do with MCP today?
Augela agents use your MCP servers: they look things up live in your systems while answering, read-only, governed and recorded. A server's documents can also become knowledge, and its tools can be steps in a pipeline.
Can an agent change anything in our systems?
Not while it answers: live lookups are read-only. Tools used as pipeline steps go through the same approval checkpoints and audit logging as any other step.
Who decides which tools an agent can use?
The company admin. A server is connected for one agent, a team or the whole company, like any other knowledge source, and its tools are allowed one by one. Group admins can only restrict further, never open up more.
What happens when an answer is wrong?
Every lookup is saved with the answer and shown in the Review Queue, so the reviewer sees straight away whether the data in your system or the agent was wrong, and fixes the right one.
Does it work outside the Augela chat?
Yes. The same agent, with the same tools and rules, answers in Slack and in the public chat on your website.
Can tools like ChatGPT or Claude call an Augela agent over MCP?
Not yet. Augela as an MCP server, so other tools can call an Augela agent, is on the roadmap. What is live is the other direction: Augela agents calling your MCP servers.
Which plans include it?
All of them.
